Find all real numbers x such that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[6x - 21 \le -3\] or \[14x + 11 \le -17\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Ok. Your turn.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really looking for answers, I keep trying this and it comes out wrong. I just want to know what I'm doing wrong. Would you mind checking my work?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What did you get when you solved the first one for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x \le 3\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

And the second?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x \le -2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I keep getting wrong is the graphing it on the number line.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So since this is a conjunction, the solution is the union of the two parts. So we need to put the two parts together: All of the numbers that are less than 3 together with all the numbers that are less than -2.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What are those numbers?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Sorry. This is a disjunction. Not conjunction.
