What are the x– and y–intercepts of the quadratic equation y = 2x2 – 8x + 6?

OpenStudy (rc94):

set x to 0 and solve for y, ( y = 2*0^2 - 8*0 + 6, this is your y intercept) set y to 0 and solve for x, (0 = 2x^2 - 8x + 6)

Don't get it???

OpenStudy (rc94):

if you let x = 0, you can solve an equation for y, in this case when x = 0: y = 6 (you literally just sub in the value of x=0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sooo whats the answer

OpenStudy (rc94):

This will be where the graph intercepts the Y axis, and is therefore, the y-intercept

OpenStudy (rc94):

y = 6 is the y intercept x = 3 and x = 1 is the x intercept
