If a doctor wanted to run a blood test to determine whether or not a person was immune to the measles virus, would they need to look for measles antigens or measles antibodies?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Antigens are what stimulate the immune reaction. They are foreign. Antibodies are what your body makes to bind to and thus inactivate the antigen.

You're welcome.

OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

They can do both antigen and antibody tests to determine its count. Maybe one test will not rule out the possibility that you have a certain disease. Doing both tests confirms it.
