OpenStudy (nincompoop):

@help123please.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

paging "undotre"

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

@help123please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hm. Let me see.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was very cool,by the way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How'd you password protect it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. 1. siete quince.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

there's an option for security

OpenStudy (anonymous):

[seven = site; fifteen = 15]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And nice, I didn't know.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

you sure that's how you say time in Spanish?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes,sir.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I say it that way all the time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also, you could add 'PM'.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So - 'siete quince PM'

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

son las siete y quince de la tarde

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good,sir.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Write that down.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See, you're even better than me.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

that's all I know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

InYourHead Las siete y cuarto de la noche. "Cuarto" means "quarter." Like 15 minutes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just got this. Maybe 'inyourhead' can help you more than I can.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@InYourHead

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

cuatro = 4 cuarto = room

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He is right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cuarto means 'fourth'. I have a quarter of my apple pie left. Tengo un cuarto de mi pie de manzana.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

May i provide inyourhead with the password to the PDF?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cuarto does mean room. It literally translates into "quarter," which is the traditional word for "room." It can also be used to mean "quarter," as in a "quarter of an hour." 15 minutes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll give inyourhead the password via a PM,yes? He knows more than I do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I sent him a PM just now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to go study; also, I don't want to get your hopes again and then have you mad at me again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bye,guys.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nincompoop So, where do you need help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. I'll multitask.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

I downloaded this from one of the computer in the lab. one of the section's exercises and I thought I'd practice before my midterms. son las siete y cuarto (or y quince) de la tarde son las tres y una de la mañana es la una veintisiete de la tarde

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so; u have the answers. good. is that it?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

es la una y veintisiete de la tarde*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Those are right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good...

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

La familia viven en Guayaquil

OpenStudy (anonymous):

delete the N at the end.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

number 2, leer. delete the R at the end.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

number 3,ser. the answer is SOY.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

why vive? isn't it "THEY?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. that would be ELLOS.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

is it because familia "family" is singular?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think of it this way: Jane lives in Guayaquil.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is because familia is singular.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

Yo soy (sauce) estudiante en mi escuela

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sauce?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haa cute.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THat's right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Inyourhead is better than me,nincompoop. Unfan me and fan him.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

Tu tomas tres trenes todas las mañana par a ir al trabajo.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We can have as many fans as we want. I don't see why s/he would un-fan you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's right. Tomas.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is correct....

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

Ellas estan caminando para la playa (word someone's a playa!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're smart, sir.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As is 'inyourhead'.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/3 viewers of this post are intelligent.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

I am not a viewer, I am a participant :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay then 2/3 participants.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

that a mí "gustar" is tripping me off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A mi me gusta.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's right.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

how do you translate that mí me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is just 'I _____'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I like.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

is that reflexive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Example: 'I like annoying people on OS'.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

[me]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't translate it, really. "Me gusta" literally means "it pleases me." "Me gusta la manzana" means "The apple pleases me." The "a mi" part indicates WHO is being pleased.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It IS reflexive.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good job explaining,inyour !

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

José y yo vamos a la tienda de deportes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct,sir.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@help123please. I've got to go take notes for one of my classes. It seems you know what you're talking about. So, why don't I let you handle this? I think you can.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for the encouragement.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for not putting yourself down anymore.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you AFK, nincompoop?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh,you are welcome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think Nincompoop is AFK.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because otherwise it'd be 'mi hermano esta tarde' which makes no sense whatsoever.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

¿A qué hora pensa regresar a casa?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct, but it is not spelled 'pensa.' its 'piensa'; an I after the P.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

that's right. it's stem changing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhm...

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

preferimos

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u mean pensa is right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I disagree, but alright.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

PENSAR to PIENSA would mean stem changing isn't it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.
