Choose the answer that makes the sentence most effective. The child, who had been ill, stayed home from school. A.child, who was feeling poorly B.sick child c.eliminated this part Plz answer this
Do you know what ill means?
ill means that said person is feeling poorly. Which one of the answers do you see that suggests the child feels poorly. ?
B.
why couldn't it be A....purplechicken ?
you know, now that you say that, i read it over and yes it would be a OR b. i would just say B though.
But yes, A would work too.
thats what I think....I think they both will work and I don't know which makes the sentence more effective.
What is the meaning of effective in this case though? If you were simply talking to some one then it would probably be B. But if you an English teacher then you might say A. But i personally would say B.
I would probably say B as well....who says " feeling poorly " I usually just say " he's sick". IDK.
Ikr.
Does feeling poorly necessarily mean sick ?
well if you're sick then it either means you just puked or you are running a fever. so actually i would have to be B because he got ill (puked).
feeling poorly could also mean something emotionally bad happened, that doesn't mean the person was ill. Right ?
EXACTLY.
So, I would choose answer B.
Yes. B is the correct answer.
cool....we agree
Yes we do.
@kelliegirl33 @purplechicken think in the eyes of an english teacher.
The response would still be B
ill also means sick
feeling poorly....hmm...sounds more sophisticated...do you know what I mean ? Does feeling poorly necessarily mean sick ?
It does sometimes.
But sometimes it doesn't. Right ?
I would still go with B. That is just my opinion.
Same here.
I would grade correctly for A.
Ok then.
unheard might be correct. Think like an English teacher.....I am not sure now...A or B.....hmm....I just don't know.
It's prob. A. But if i was just talking to someone then i would say b
