Determine the type of boundary line and shading for the graph of the inequality y greater than or equal to 2x + 6 Dashed line with shading on the side that includes the origin. Solid line with shading on the side that does not include the origin. Dashed line with shading on the side that does not include the origin. Solid line with shading on the side that includes the origin.

Determine the type of boundary line and shading for the graph of the inequality y > 2x + 6 The boundary line is found by substituting an equals sign for the inequality sign: y = 2x + 6 Because the sign of the inequality is strictly "greater than" rather than "greater than or equal to", the points on that line don't satisfy the inequality and we use a dashed line to indicate that the boundary isn't included.

is it A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

Dashed line with shading on the side that includes the origin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Shouldnt it be a solid line when its "greater than or equal to"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its a, because...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I looked in my notes and it says that a closed circle is a solid line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a solid line when its "greater than or equal to i think yeah im sure ur right. i thought it the other way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay Thanks a million

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be D?
