Determine the type of boundary line and shading for the graph of the inequality y > 2x + 6 Dashed line with shading on the side that includes the origin. Solid line with shading on the side that does not include the origin. Dashed line with shading on the side that does not include the origin. Solid line with shading on the side that includes the origin.
Is Graph there for this problem?
nope
< and > have dashed lines <= and >= have a solid line... so you can already eliminate 2 of your choices to see if it includes to origin or not...plug in the coordinate (0,0) into your equation and see if it comes out true...if it does...it includes it...if not...it doesnt
d? @johnweldon1993
I refer you back to my prior post.... < and > have a dashed line...so it couldn't possibly be D
A? @johnweldon1993
so we've ruled out the solid lines...now to see if it involves the origin (0,0) y > 2x + 6 plug 0 in for y and 0 in for x ...so 0 > 2(0) + 6 0 > 0 + 6 0 > 6 is this true?
yeah
0 > 6 is true?
no!
there we go...so since that is NOT true....then this dashed line...will not be shaded to include the origin...which leaves you with answer choice....?
A!
"will not be shaded to include the origin" try again
I dont see it! @johnweldon1993
C) Dashed line with shading on the side that does not include the origin.
oh! ok thanks!
no prob man
