How too you figure out how many atoms an object has?.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to know the mass and the molecular formula of the substance. Divide the mass by the molecular weight of the atom if it is single element. If it is not a single element you need the molecular formula of the substance and then you divide by the total molecular weight and multiply by the number of atoms in the molecule. If it is composed of multiple different molecules you need the ratio of the molecules. It is really all algebra and making sure you keep your units straight.
