negative 1 over 2 x + 3 = −x + 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply both sides by the denominator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry for being really bad at this but witch is the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ -1 }{ 2x+3 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x+3 is the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok then i multiply -x + 7 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-1 = (-x+7)(2x+3)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

should be the next step.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im really confused i dont understand what to do with that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to solve a problem like this you have to move everything to one side and then set the other side to zero... if you don't get these easy steps there is no way you'll be able to do the rest...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

especially since this one requires the quadratic formula... and I doubt you've learned that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i havnt :( i shall learn it and then try it again thank you for staying here and helping me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np, good luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
