Point M(4, 3) is translated according to the rule (x, y) (x + 2, y – 5). What are the coordinates of M’? A. (2, −2) B. (6, 8) C. (2, 8) D. (6, −2)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im sure you can add 2 and subtract 5 ...

@99 score: my question is the rule (x,y) = (x+2,y+5) or the rule of M(4,5) =(x,y)* (x+2,y+5)?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

no, the rule is not multipying. the rule states that for a given point (x,y), the translation to perform (x+a,y+b) results in a new point

thanks a lot.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a dot product of vectors, if that was a suitable interpretation, would result in a scalar value, a single number, not another vector

ok
