@HawkCrimson Can you help me with this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

These are thee possible answers 53.0 ft 37.0 ft 15.9 ft 77.0 ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 77

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u see this is all ratios

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks man

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thaught it was 37 at first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

therefore the ratio of the shadows r 35 : 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wat u do is find 35:10 of 22 Therefore 22 x 35/10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay okay, can you help me with another one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure :)

|dw:1364321725286:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a hint is find the ratios of the sides ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here are the possible answers Yes; the similarity ratio is 3:4. Yes; the similarity ratio is 1:2. No; the triangles are not similar. Yes; the similarity ratio is 2:3. I dont understand how to do this though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6:8 9:12 12:16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So theyre not similar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6:8 9:12 12:16 3:4 3:4 3:4 ratios can be treated as a fraction such as 6/8 9/12 12/16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh so kinda like simplifyng?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright so it 3:4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need help with another one, do you have time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, wat is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1364322399824:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok for this one u need to use pythagromus theorem \[c ^{2}=a ^{2}+b ^{2}\] and a hint will be that you have to use simultaneous equations :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can't figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[c ^{2} = a ^{2}+ 9^{2}\]\[c ^{2} = a ^{2}+29^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9^2=81 29^2=841
