Please solve the combined inequality 2x – 4 > -2 and 2x – 4 < 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jhonyy9 @kropot72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2<2x-4<10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@凯旋小灰 How did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just added together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7>x>1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do not know is that right or not. I just think when 2x – 4 > -2 and 2x – 4 < 10, move-2 to another side,is -2<2x-4, so -2<2x-4<10.

@experimentX @campbell_st @Luis_Rivera

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, then take off the -4 is 2<2x<14, make 2x to x,is 1<x<7.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and please be attention that smaller one should put left,and bigger one on right .

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

2x - 4 > -2 add 4 to both sides 2x > 2 so x> 1 and 2x - 4< 10 2x < 14 so x < 7 so I'd write it as 1 < x < 7

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the solution is saying that the value of x is between 1 and 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and also 1 and 7 are not included..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

another exptetion iz (1, 7)
