Use long division and the Remainder Theorem to evaluate P(c), where P(x)=x^3−3x^2+5x−10,c=2 what is the quotient

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Are you trying to factor or just divide? I can think of rational root theorem. Does that sound familiar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure what i have to do. but i have to find the quotient somehow.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get -4

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Anyways, I think this is rational root theorem. So you're dividing by \[(x^3-3x^2+5x-10) \div (x-2)\]x-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Do you know how to do long division with polynomials or do you need help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can do that. i just didnt know what concept to use

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the help
