is this right ?
9x + 3y = 6 i think it goes with this chart
well the line has a y intercept at y = 2 and an x intercept at x = 2/3 hope this helps
i think it goes with this graph
that graph doesn't go through y = 2
Do you know how to draw a graph from its equation...?
just look for a line that cuts the y axis at y = 2 and cuts the x axis at x = 2/3
this one right
nope...you line has to cut the vertical axis at y = 2 and the horizontal axis at x = 2/3
it makes more sense than your other choices.
how do you know it has a vertical axis at y = 2 and the horizontal axis at x = 2/3
the problem just says 9x + 3y = 6
it cuts the axis at y = 2 the equation is 9x + 3y = 6 to find the y intercepts let x = 0 so you need to solve 9*0 + 3y = 6 to find the x- intercept let y = 0 so solve 9x + 3*0 = 6
what about x – 2y = 6
let x = 0 for the y- intercept so you need to solve -2y = 6 x- intercept let y = 0 and solve x = 6 thats not hard
so how would i find it on a graph
As campbell said Y intercept is (x=0) where graph cuts Y axis... X intercept is (y=0) where graph cuts X axis... and there is only one line which can cross these points... Draw it yourself and see which one is right graph.
