True or False Logics 5 is a whole number or 5 is an even number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this would be false correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is 5 a whole number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is 5 even number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then 5 is not an even number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the statement would be false?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then True or False would become?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see think of it this way your dad said that you need not go to school if it rains or if you are not well? lets suppose that you are alright( my hopes are always ri8 :P) and its raining. So as per your dad's suggestion. will u go or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zhengcl86 !!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that case you'll not go because my dad says if its raining outside then i will stay home lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you see any relationship between my example and your problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

somewhat so 5 is a whole number and 5 is a even number one of the statement is true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so makes the statement true! because of the "or" in the truth tables

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhh ic, so its kinda like a trick question!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when the conjunction is or you should have atleast one true to get whole statement true when conjunction is and, which means you have to have both true to get whole statement true ( see in general english sense : or means you have choice , and means you dont have choice)
