http://sketchtoy.com/26790253 @hartnn @jim_thompson5910 am I doing this correctly?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

When you move that +1 over, you're really subtracting 1 from both sides

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Not adding 1 to both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so I need to restart and subtract it?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://sketchtoy.com/26791618 Is this better @jim_thompson5910 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mertsj ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

good, just need to finish it off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://sketchtoy.com/26792075 like that?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

good and almost forgot that the inequality sign will flip

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

because you're dividing both sides by a negative number

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So the answer is \[\Large x \ge -4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would I graph that.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

bleh, more typos...it should be positive since -8 divided by -2 is positive 4 so it's really \[\Large x \ge 4\]

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

again, the answer is \[\Large x \ge 4\] to graph \[\Large x \ge 4\], you draw out a number line, plot a closed circle at 4, then shade to the right of the closed circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks. :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
