dubble checking... Solve for x: 3x − 5 = 2x + 6 x would b 11? 1 −1 11 −11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to get x on one side and the numbers on the other so these are the steps: (Remember, what you do to one side, you must do to the other.) 3x-5=2x+6 subtract 2x from both sides x-5=6 Subtract negative five from both sides (Subtracting a negative is the same as adding the number. Two negatives equal a positive.) This ends up making you add five. x=11 yes you right
