How would you simplify the following expression: 3x + 4y – 2x + 3y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 1x + 7y...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First you add the 4y and the 3y and then you subtract the 2x from the 3x because 2x is a negative number...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so these are my answer choices, so this is why I am confused x + 7y 5x + 7y 7x + 5y 8x + 4y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is on 1x+7y :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HELP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PLEASE :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x+7y is the same as 1x+7y. The one is implied so there is no need to write it
