x^5y^2 divided by xy^2 is the question but it says "WHEN X equals sign with slash thru it 0 and Y equal sign with slash thru it 0" I dont know what that last part means...I thought it would be x^4 ???? Thanks
Oh, they're just basically saying that x and y can't equal zero, because otherwise, even though they do cancel in the top and bottom, you would still have an undefined point on the graph of this equation.
So its just there to trick me...and I had the right answer all along...?
yepp, you're answer is correct. They have to include that though, because when x or y = zero, you would have to take limits and the such, and you'll arrive at the same answer, however do to laws of continuity, you just can't have x or y= 0, it's just there to let you know you don't have to worry about having to do any extra work
hmmm...and everyone wonders why I hate math! lol Thanks much!
