an investor invested a total of $3,600 in two mutual funds. One fund earned a 7% profit while the other earned a 4% profit if the investors total profit was $ 201 how much was invested in each mutual fund?

You can call the two different investments M and N. From the information you're given, you know that:\[M + N = 3600\] You also know that M made a profit of 0.07M, and N made a profit of 0.04N (you could switch M and N around; it doesn't matter). The total profit was £201, so: \[0.07M + 0.04N = 201\] You can then solve these two equations as simultaneous equations.
