What is the purpose of inverse trig functions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-Purpose of the inverse trigonometric functions is to find all 3 sides and all 3 angles. -the purpose is to be able to identify all 3 side lengths without using pythagorean theorem or 3 side info. simply need 1 angle and one side. from there you plug in SOH CAH TOA and solve! -the purpose of a trig function is the prossess to find the three angles and the three sides of any one triangle -the reason why we use the inverse is because we are trying to find the angle’s of the triangle. We find it by using the ratio’s and using soh-cah-toa

-The purpose of the inverse trigonometric functions is to find the missing angles of a right triangle. For example, if you’re given a right triangle with a missing angle (x) and are given an opposite of 6 and an adjacent of 3, then the equation would look like this: Tan negative 1 power=(6/3). That equals 63.43 degrees. The other missing angle (y) would look like: Tan negative 1 power=(3/6). That equals 26.57 degrees. Now if you add all of the angles together, then you should come up with about 180 degrees. -We use the inverse of the trig. functions so we can find the angles measurement. We then use soh-cah-toa to solve. -The purpose of the inverse trigonometric function is to find the angles. You find the angles by using the inverse, then you take the ratio and use −1 function: sin−1 (opposite/ hypotenuse) =
