OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

A tendon is an attachment from muscle to bone. The tendon you are referring to is part of the Plantaris, Soleus, and Gastrocnemius muscles, which are all posterior muscles of the lower limb. This tendon is known as the Achilles’ tendon. Pushing both sides of the Achilles’ tendon can create discomfort because you are also pressing on anatomical structures, such as the small saphenous vein.
