I found the area of the rectangle, but I am not sure how to continue ... :(

You know one side of the rectangle is 16, and that's also the hypotenuse of each triangle. You know the sides of the triangles are all equal, so you need to find one triangle's area. Now, let's call the hypotenuse c, and each side a. Then the area of each triangle is c*a/2. You know that the total width of the figure is 12, and the rectangle is 6 units wide. Therefore each triangle is 3 units wide, and the area is 16*3/2 = 24 units per triangle. Multiply by 2: 24*2 = 48 units. The answer is B.
