need help i already tried a few problems like this but dont seem to get it correct.Multiply and simplify completely: 2 x^2 (6 x^2 + 1 x)

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

Well you need to distribute so you multiply the term outside the parenthesis by each term inside the perenthesis individually. \[12x ^{4}+2x ^{3}\] I think this is the answer you need, but i think it is better to factor the x.\[x ^{3}(12x+2)\]What I did there is the same thing as I did in the prevous step but backwards. if you multiply the x cubed by the 12x you get back your 12x to the four and if you multiplu your x cubed by your two you get back your 2x cubed.

oooooh wow I was so doing it very wrong. now I understand what you did thank you for your help.
