Hey here I say an analogue example. lets begin Consider a water tank full of water on a roof building. Now imagine this tank with full of as charged battery. When you open the tap in kitchen you can experience water getting pushed out from tap with certain force. Similarly when you connect a battery to some load electrons gets pushed out from battery with some FORCE to reach load. The force with which the electrons are travelling is called as Electro Motive Force(EMF). Now if we want to measure the Force(EMF) of electrons we generally use some meter. Now we need some units to measure EMF. The units in which we measure this EMF is called as Volt. and the meter which we use to measure these is called as voltmeter. Im sorry if I made you bored with all above consideration. conclusion: "volt is the unit of Electro Motive Force".
