Please help!! Expand (x + 3)6 using Pascal’s Triangle
@PeterPan do you know?
yeah.... :) Just looking for the best way to tell you ^.^
thanks
Okay, Pascal's Triangle... This is going to be interesting~ |dw:1365349407092:dw|
|dw:1365349425336:dw|
non of this fancy stuff is nessecary you can just tell me what numbers are in which rows
|dw:1365349457727:dw|
Well, if you have this fancy stuff down, can you work it out until the sixth row? :)
yes i think so. i just dont know how to start them like how would i start this (4x – 3y)4
Ahh, well, always work from x to y... like this \[\huge <?>x^4 \ + \ <?>x^3y \ + \ <?>x^2y^2 \ + ...\]
? looks complex
Start with x raised to the power, and take away one from the exponent of x at at a time and give it to y. The <?> get filled in by the numbers you found using Pascal's Triangle.
ok then, how do find the numbers on the triangle
I thought you already had it down? :/
i do for (x + 3)6 not for (4x – 3y)4
yeah, so find the sixth row of pascal's triangle... every number is the sum of the two numbers above it |dw:1365349869795:dw| There, I just did the third row for you. Do it three more times.
ok is that (x+3)^6? thanks btw
Yes, whatever you get in the sixth row of the triangle, those would be the coefficients (in that order!) that fill in the <?> I put in ^.^
