Solve |x−3|<7. Write your answer in interval notation.

OpenStudy (raden):

if given |f(x)| < a (with a is a constant) then the solution is -a < f(x) < a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since absolute takes the positive and the negative number inside |number| @RadEn is right @spimentel

OpenStudy (raden):

theforefore, if given |x−3|<7 then the solution can represented be -7 < x-3 < 7

OpenStudy (raden):

simplify again add by 3 to all sides, giving us : -7+3 < x-3+3 < 7+3 -4 < x < 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how would i write that in interval notation?

OpenStudy (raden):

-4 < x < 10 that's already in interval notation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok:) thank you soo much, i actually get it.:)

OpenStudy (raden):

you're welcome :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would you write that with the infinity signs? because i think thats what its asking me
