1/6x+4/5=7/10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you trying to solve for x here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i am i dont want answer i want to know how to set it up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure thing, one question though is your equation: (1/6x)+4/5=7/10 or 1/(6x+4/5)=7/10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also its not a divided symbol they are fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty, so first you will want to try to get x all by itself (1/6x)+4/5=7/10 start by subtracting 4/5 from both sides, it may help if you have a common denominator between all your fractions though this is a good source to help with that: http://www.mathsisfun.com/numbers/common-denominator.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the common denominator is 30 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then its 5 over 30 x plus 24/30 and im not sure after that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So getting them all over 30: (1/6x)+4/5=7/10 First one multiply by 5 second one multiply by 6 third one multiply by 3 So... (5/30x)+24/30=21/30 not you can subtract the 24/30 so 5/30x=(21/30)-(24/30)
