The coordinate grid below shows Triangle STU and its image after translation, Triangle S′T′U′. Which coordinate rule represents the translation seen? (x, y) →(x + 7, y – 3) (x, y) →(x + 11, y + 2) (x, y) →(x + 7, y + 2) (x, y) →(x + 11, y – 3)

OpenStudy (andriod09):

could you please care to tell share the image with us? i'm sure that would help us help you with the problem. P.S. Welcome to Openstufy RICARDOismyfirstname!

Pick a point, S, T or U and count the units it will take you to get from one to the other

OpenStudy (andriod09):

its quite simple, all you have to do is count how far it's moved, i'll give you the y axis, its (x,y) -> (x+_, y+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So like this? From S to S', I would go up 2 units and to the right 11 units?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes! :)

OpenStudy (andriod09):

yup. that's correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So how would I determine my answer after that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean? That is your answer

OpenStudy (andriod09):

this would be your answer, you went up 2 units on the y-axis, and 11 on the x-axis: (x, y) →(x + 11, y + 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay, I see that now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, having an off kind of day. Thanks to the both of you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem :P
