How did nationalism threaten the existing political order of the nineteenth century?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nationalism was one of the reasons people started to imperialize, and when ever a coubtry starts to imperialize it often show the political and the military power of a country. Africa is a great example of this, chinais another example with the foriegn influences and the spheres of influenes, and lastly is the negative effect, when russia lost the the Russo-Japanesse War, the people of Russia were not proud to be Russian because Russia became the FIRST "white" nation to lose to an "asian" nation in the world. With this lost the throne of the czar was beganin to loosen, and later one it would be abbicated.

Alright, for this to be explained well we to know the political climate of that century. 1st things 1st, france straight up just has a revolution. And Were talking crazy scale here, killin people and Making napoleans. The reason they are sucessful is because they NATIONALISE, or become unified as frenchies. This scares many other nations, because it inspires nations (which are not countries yet-nations are groups of people with the same heritage/ethinicity) that are under control of foreign powers to revolt. This causes the Greek revolution of 1830, who basically wipe the floor with the ottomans, all because being greek is dope (panhellenism, or a revial of greek culture occurs at this time, spurring Errbody to help greeks). lastly you have poor Austria-Hungary, a polyglot (literally multiple languages, but it just means diverse ethnically) which is really just eight nations stickly glued into one country. Because of all the pressure of nationalism, things begin to disentegrate for them, before this it was just Austria, but the hungarians didnt like that too much, so they started rebelling too.
