solid
Duh. What do you think water is at 0 degrees Celsius?
So, let me get this straight...we start out with water at -40 degrees and start heating it up. It gets to 0 degrees and stays there for a while. Hmmm let me think....what could be happening to the water at 0 degrees if we kept adding heat. Oh. I've got an idea...why don't you get a tray of ice cubes, put them on the stove in a pan and turn on the burner and watch and see what happens.
What does vaporize mean?
"the change from a liquid to a gas"
So you're trying to sell the idea that at 0 degrees water changes from a liquid to steam?
You know, I am very tired of this question. I have tried to explain to you that at 0 degrees Celsius water is ice. That is the solid state. If you add heat to ice, it melts. If you want to put down that the ice changes to steam at the freezing point, you go right ahead. I frankly don't care what answer you put down. Hmmm I wonder why steam seems so hot...it's only 0 degrees Celsius. I always thought that was pretty cold.
