And then Japanese, Korean and Hungarian I think :)

OpenStudy (opcode):

Well speaking from a personal view, arabic isn't that hard... At Least for me it isn't. Japanese is somewhat more challenging, do to gargantuan amount of Kanji symbols to remember. But basic Hiragana isn't hard :-). And English is probably one of the languages I mostly struggled with, when I was a kid. It still confused me till today, due to the variations of it.

Chinese 汉字 - every character is a different word. I don't know how all those little chinese children manage.

OpenStudy (andriod09):

English is (literally) the hardest language to learn. English is a challenge for most (non native speakers) because its composed of: Latin, German, French, Spanish, and something else, i think its Irish. Its the most complex language to learn.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say something like chinese because of the symbols involved. I have heard that latin is the best language to learn because latin is the root of all languages and all words.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks all for each opinion.. For Japanese, may be hard to remember the symbol in Katakana or Hiragana :) And Chinese, unique character, and still hard to learn it. I've heard that Arabic is the oldest language. maybe body language (gesture) sometimes helps us to communicate when we had trouble mastering the language. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The hardest language to learn is one that is completely dead; one that nobody speaks or writes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Arabic, Cantonese, and Hungarian!

OpenStudy (unicornpoopcookies):

Arabic,Chinese,Korean but really it depends how much you use it in daily life.I learned French easily because Spanish is of close resemblance and i speak it everyday.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, and etc...
