Writing an outline? I'm suppose to write an outline for a research paper but I'm not too sure how to. Should it be simple like "Introduction, body, conclusion" or detailed like "Introduction- when was my event started blah blah blah, Body-questions blah blah blah, conclusion-how it affected us today blah blah blah"? what I'm asking is can anyone write a really quick example? Any topic of their choice I just need to know what mine should look like.

the second one. You should have the rough ideas of what you want. An outline isn't going to be detailed, but it should prove that you have an idea of what you're going to write about.

If you are writing an outline for a research paper, you should make it at least semi-detailed. Start with your introduction - when did your event start, why did it start, where did it start - make sure you include your thesis in the introduction. Next, your body. The body of your research paper should be very detailed, try using quotes to enhance your paper. Finally you should close off your paper with your conclusion. Make sure you summarize your research paper and restate your thesis. I've attached the research paper that I recently wrote for my English class.

Thank you both so much. You two really made it easy to understand.

And @servant_of_adonai your research paper is fantastic. I learned a lot about the holocaust and how a paper should be written.
