Which equation has this graph? http://curriculum.kcdistancelearning.com/courses/ALG1x-HS-CA10/b/Exams/8Quiz1/8Quiz1_q1.bmp

OpenStudy (umarsback):

Explain so i can understand. please(:

OpenStudy (umarsback):

y = x2 - 6x + 5 y = -x2 - 6x + 5 y = -x2 - 6x - 5 y = x2 + 6x - 5

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

What are the two roots here? How do you write a general equation for a quadratic?

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

You have to be quick. I have to go soon.

OpenStudy (umarsback):

2+bx+c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So basically you have to look for what equals (3,4)

OpenStudy (umarsback):

You see those options on top? i think we have to chose one. idk o_o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO WAIT I MEAN (3,-4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol brain fart

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Roots here are x=1 and x=5. It is where the function has the value 0. So your quadratic would be (x-1)(x-5)=0 ..

OpenStudy (umarsback):

(1,-5)? O:

OpenStudy (umarsback):

LOL JESS.

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

|dw:1366139764870:dw|

OpenStudy (umarsback):

KK ITS 1,5

OpenStudy (umarsback):

OMG I SUCK AT THIS.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait yre

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Yeah you really do. Yes jess?

OpenStudy (umarsback):

This is sad.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It has to be the first one..

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Yes, it is the first one.

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

jk umar.

OpenStudy (umarsback):

Im crying guys. this is too sad.

OpenStudy (umarsback):

thanks tho. i didnt understand a thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yre!! It's the first one!!!!!!

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Crying is girlish... :P And you understand it now? It is the first one, jess. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x-intercept The value of x at the point where a line or curve crosses the x-axis. : (1,0),(5,0) y-intercept The value of y at the point where a curve crosses the y-axis. : (0,5)

OpenStudy (umarsback):

its okay for guys to cry over math... and i still dont understand lol. Jess what is that? D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's your answer lol

OpenStudy (umarsback):

erm. thank you guys.

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

When you got two zeros of a quadratic (x-x1)(x-x2)=y gives you the quadratic. Here x1=1, x2=5, find the quadratic..

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

And as this is an objective question, you could also put x=1 and x=5 in each of the options and see where y is zero. You can eliminate the options that do not satisfy your condition.

OpenStudy (umarsback):

okay i understand now(:
