Simplify z^-9 by making the exponent possitive. I got z^9, is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what you would have to know is that \[a ^{-b}=\frac{ 1 }{ a ^{b} }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you apply that fact to your question, what do you get as your answer??

OpenStudy (phi):

you can't just change the sign from -9 to +9 without "compensating" in other words, flip the fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly, just follow that formula as @kausarsalley gave you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so wouldnt it be z^9 and that it, or is their more to it?

OpenStudy (phi):

1/z^9 don't you mean ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@katlin95 no, it wouldn't be. look at the formula and apply it to your problem. z^-9 = 1/z^9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh alright:)
