when you look at 'Everything' with a detector that has a minimum sensitivity of
10(−10)m
, you will notice that 'everything' is made up of atoms. ofcourse, this would mean, that anything below this scale, your detector and hence you will not notice.

atom is just a layer in the building blocks of matter. you can go much deeper into this layer already. we already approach quarks.
every second, billions of neutrons are crossing the space before your eyes.
but yes, an atom is a stable form of the building blocks, meaning mostly it can exist happily in isolation.

A neutron star is made up purely of neutrons.
A white dwarf is made up of degenerate particles or nucleons. no atoms there.

so really, atoms don't make everything. and anyway somethings make atoms too isn't it.
