How do I solve n^2+16n+64=36

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well subtract 36 from both sides of the equation \[n^2 + 16n + 48 = 0\] find the factors of 48 that add to 16... 12 and 4 then you show the equation as the product of 2 binomials. (n + factor 1)(n + factor 2) = 0 then its simply a case of solving n + factor 1 = 0 and n + factor 2 = 0 the reason is, if either binomial is equal to zero, then the equation will equal zero.
