A belief that one’s culture is superior to another. B. Prejudice C. Stereotype D. Racism

OpenStudy (anonymous):

confusing how the 3 choices are B, C, and D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That actually sounds like ethnocentrism, but since that isn't one of the choices... it's a hard question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i chose culture first but got it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know. I probably would have said culture too if it was an option. I guess maybe because culture has an implication of "now" and tradition has an implication of "history"? I don't know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that got me confused too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

back in 10 min

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll tell you, since I'm not 100% sure myself. I do think that's a "company."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As for your first question -- "A belief that one’s culture is superior to another" is a word-for-word definition of "ethnocentrism." Wasn't "ethnocentrism" one of your choices? It was A, wasn't it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got that wrong also

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you choose?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i chose company for the above question but got it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, I have no idea what it is then. But the very first question: "A belief that one’s culture is superior to another." What did you choose for that one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i chose ethnocentrism but got it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here, take a look at this: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ethnocentrism?s=t It's a dictionary definition of "ethnocentrism." The answer to your first question really should have been A. Something's not right here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but why we got it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can't talk to your teacher about this, because your teacher isn't available. Is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she had not been available since jan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A group that has exclusive business rights and titles. A. Company B. Corporation C. Investment D. Proprietorship

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since its not A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what should it be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's terrible. I'm sorry, I'm stumped as to what you could do about that. I wish you could bring that first question up with your teacher. ~~~~~~~~~~ Since it's not A, my next guess would be B. I've never ever taken business class. And my research and common sense tell me that B would be the next logical choice. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don't worry about this question though: "Beliefs, legends, and customs." The answer really is "tradition." "Culture," in anthropology, is a "full range of learned human behavior patterns." Culture is a collection of all the actions of a human group. "Tradition," to me, is a little more specific.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its alright can we discuss the above question because company is not the correct option can it be B because its closest to the meaning A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, since it's not A, my next guess would be B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A line horizontally drawn from the center of the circle. A. Radius B. Axiom C. Circumference D. Vertex

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i chose A but got it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it's none of the other three choices. I've even looked up their definitions, just to be sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that a "radius" doesn't have to be drawn HORIZONTALLY from the center of a circle. It can be drawn from any direction. But the thing is...none of the other three choices fit the definition.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertex can be right than

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because its a point present in centre of the circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. A "vertex" is a point where two or more straight lines come together. Like the corners of a square. Those are vertices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

axion is a postulate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And we know that circumference has nothing to do with straight lines.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is just stupid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know. This sucks. I'm sorry, I have no idea why some of your right answers were marked wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Acceptance, Perception and Conclusion A. Customs B. Beliefs C. Traditions D. Rituals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its B right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. I agree.
