which of the following explains how water causes rocks to weather ( 1 point) water can melt rock material water freezes in the cracks and expands, causing breaks water reacts with the rock and produces gases all of the above
water freezes in the cracks and expands, causing breaks
thnx for the help
@josesito http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erosion says water freezes in the cracks and expands, causing breaks. Also carbondioxide is an acid that solves rock, but that is not exactly one of the answers, so I'd choose from the four answers, the answer two,"water freezes in the cracks and expands, causing breaks" but I am no genius yet.
"water reacts with the rock and produces gases" is also possible CaCO3 + H2O => Ca(OH)2(in water soluble) + CO2(gas)
And I quickly read the page http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2012/12/why-do-rocks-melt-volcano/ Might water be able to help melting rock? Discussion is possible. So Final answer could be "all of the above"
IVE DONE THIS ALREADY!
@godgavemeyou nice name by the way. : what do you mean by "IVE DONE THIS ALREADY!" Do you mean, that you have answered "all of the above"?
I ve done this thing already in science im doing this
