What is the solution set for |2x – 6| – 7 = 7? x = 4 and x = 10 x = 4 and x = –10 x = –4 and x = 10 x = –4 and x = –10

The question is beasically telling you what numbers fits perfectly in the equation. It's not the first two answers because if you substitute 4 in x: |2(4) - 6| - 7 is -5. 5 is not equal to 7. If you substitute 10 in the equation, the answer will be 7. So the third choice is the right answer. If you don't know what | | means, it's what makes a negative number positive. For example, |-1| = 1, and |-4| = 4. I hope this helps :)
