There is a difference between velocity&speed.Does this difference interfere in my previous question that is "if force is perpendicular to motion,is speed constant.

thomaster (thomaster):

The only difference between speed and velocity is that velocity is speed with a direction, like 40 mph 'north'. So i don't think it interferes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It does indeed make a difference. The speed is constant, but the velocity is constantly changing direction, so the velocity is not constant. A changing velocity means that the object is accelerating (which again does not mean that the speed is changing).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does this difference influence in the question"if force is perpendicular to motion...................."

thomaster (thomaster):

I think not, but i'm not 100% sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As I said, if force is perpendicular to motion, speed is constant, but velocity is not.
