How to find a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what trig function does this represent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2(a)(b) - cos A?

OpenStudy (gorv):

sin39=a/15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what function would you use when you are trying to find the adjacent side and you have the hypotenuse?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cosine?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soh cah toa. so yes cosine :) so you would do cos 39=a/15, multiply by 15 to get a by itself. so you are left with 15 sin 39

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why did it change to sin?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was never sin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

crap sorry i didnt mean sin D: 15 cos 39!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and am I right on this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you are :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and what would this one be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would just be cos 5/13, it cant be reduced.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it can't. & what about this one? Am I right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am I right on this one too?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hope_nicole

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tangent is opp/adj. so it would be 36/15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright so Im right on this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

other way around.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why you said oop/adj?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am I doing it right now? :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that one is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright & I have no idea what this is asking for?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what csc is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes its cotanget?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

csc is the inverse of sin...so its 1/sin..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no cotangent is cot, the inverse of tangent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright so this is the inverse of sin?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well sin is 12/15/ so you need the inverse of that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 5/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so this one is false its 13/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

& so secant is the reciprical of sine?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

secant is the inverse of cosine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright so On this one am I right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hope_nicole

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so this one is false right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They forgot to flip it? @Hope_nicole

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct so its false

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANKS SOOO SOOO SOOOO SOOO MUCH! @Hope_nicole

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anytime :D
