can someone help me graph this equation step by step -5x-2y+8=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you have to isolate y by itself -2y +8 = 5x added 5x to each side -2y = 5x - 8 subtract -8 from each side y = -(5/2)x + 4 divide both side by -2

awesome thanks how would you know how to generate plot points from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now lets find some points to graph the equation x = 0, y = 4 so thats one point (0,4) x= 2, y = -1 another point (2,-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but you only need one point because you can use your slope with is -5/2 that means it goes down 5 on the y axis from the point (0,4) and 2 to the right on the x axis

cool thanks i think I have it.
