OpenStudy (mertsj):

What do you need help with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first question got the other alredy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are the answers for (i) A(-2, 3), B (4,6) for (ii) 1/2 0r 0.5 and for (iii) -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is (iii) -2 0r 4

OpenStudy (mertsj):

iii calls for the equation of a line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the other ok

OpenStudy (mertsj):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well it is -2

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Do you know what an equation is?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Equations must have an equal sign.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i just want to know if the answer is right

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Somehow we are not communicating. The problem says: Determine the equation of the line which passes through A and B Equations of lines look like this: y = 6x-8 or 3x+2y=4 So when you say the answer is -2, it makes no sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok y=mx +c y=1/2x-4=4-6=-2

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The line goes through the point (4,6). Its slope is 1/2. If we know a point and the slope, we ought to use point slope form: \[y-y _{1}=m(x-x _{1})\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Replace y_1 with 6. Replace m with 1/2 Replace x_1 with 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6=1/2(-2-4)=-2

OpenStudy (mertsj):

I see you are having trouble with substitution. I will demonstrate:
