because the proper definition for connotation is an idea or feeling that a word invokes for a person in addition to its literal or primary meaning. So,in your case connotation is the authors meaning.

I'd rather just get the answer. So thanks, @raane :) And @skullpatrol, there's no need to get all butt-hurt just because somebody gave me the answer, but didn't "guide" me to it. I don't post questions on here for somebody to "guide" me to. I post so somebody can give me the answer straight up.
