How would you find an equation for a liner material in a pool with a hieght of 8ft and volume of 1600ft? the volume = 960 gallons of water?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what? you give two volumes? which is right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you show us what you've done first please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i had to find the volume of the amount of water in the pool it came to 960.. . . . but i cant figure out the lining material part .... and then i would have to subtract it from 960 gallons of water.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o.o that doesn't make sense at all. Let's start from the beginning of the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"volume of 1600ft" -Could you explain this please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok lol The pool should be a rectangular prism and the hieght of the pool is 8ft. and the volume is 1600^3 that is the volume of the pool. I did an equation to figure out the amount of water that will need to fill the pool which is 960 gallons of water mminus 6 inches below the top of the pool. The amount of pool liner material that has to line the pool is its (sides and bottom), " I dont know how to figure out lining part of the pool?"

its an activty im doing for geometry lesson 07.06 flvs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does that make since> ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Unfortunately I'm not someone who delves with gallons, inches and feet. I'm someone who uses the metric system, so I think you have to wait for someone who knows more about your units. Sorry about that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its fine thanks for trying
