what is the x-intercept of y=-4x, when y=0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The x-intercept is the location or locations on the curve where y=0. In this case, you can easily find the x-intercept by plugging in y = 0 on the right side: y=-4x 0=-4x Now divide both sides by negative 4: 0/-4 = x Zero divided by any constant is always simply 0. 0 = x Flip the sides, so x is presented on the left. (it is still the same equation) x=0 Therefore, we know that the x-intercept is at x = 0, or the equation has an x-intercept of '0'.
