I see... rationals... excluded values of x? I suggest looking for the values of x which would make the denominator equal to zero... catch my drift? :D

no lol. here is this right? For 1 is it 5 and then for 2 is it -24? is that right?

Actually, yes, it's correct. Plug those values for x in, you'll see that if x = (those numbers you chose) they make the denominator equal to zero. Say x = 5, for the first item... etc.
