OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

Can someone help me with this problem http://oi43.tinypic.com/m4meb.jpg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let them equal and solve for x, then plug back into either of them

OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

But how do you find the answer because cancelled out the 6 and 4 and now I have 1/4x+2=1/2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }x+6=\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }x+4\] Subtract \[\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }x\] on both sides and subtract 4 on both sides. \[2=\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }x\] Divide by 1/4 on both sides (or .25 or Multiply by 4 on both sides) \[8=x\]
