Carbon in food molecules is transferred from animals to the geosphere through the process of diffusion excretion photosynthesis respiration

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mertsj

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Carbon FROM FOOD

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Do you think the animal eats the food and then the food diffuses into the air...or maybe into the ground when the animal lays down?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it s diffusion.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What is diffusion anyway?

thomaster (thomaster):

diffusion is something in a high concentration spreading to areas with a low concentration. Animals eat --> Animals defecate What do you think is the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excretion ?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

@thomaster would be good to let the asker answer the question

thomaster (thomaster):

@Mertsj he just did :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its excretion ? im a "she" btw :)

thomaster (thomaster):

I'm sorry :P and yes excretion is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks :) can you help me with another one ?

thomaster (thomaster):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What happens to an earthquake's S-waves when they strike the core? They bounce off. They are absorbed. They change into P-waves. They change into L-waves.

thomaster (thomaster):

the core of the earth?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i thinks its the second one . you ?

thomaster (thomaster):

well S waves can only travel through solid. Since the outer core of the earth is liquid i think they'll be absorbed

thomaster (thomaster):

But i'm not sure, you should ask geography section.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright. thanks anyways :)

OpenStudy (mertsj):

@thomaster I'm pretty sure the question I asked was "what is diffusion" and I'm pretty sure you are the one who answered it. If the asker has any idea what diffusion is, he/she would not have selected it as the answer to this question.

thomaster (thomaster):

@Mertsj well it was not necessarily an answer to your question, just an explanation why her selected answer could not be the right one.
